Hordefire for iPhone · last updated 24 October 2026
Short version. We never ask for your name or email. If you are 13 or older, the game gets a random player number to keep your weekly race score and, unless you switch it off, anonymous play stats that help us improve the game. The game shows ads from Google; whether they can be personalised depends on your age and your answer to Apple's tracking prompt. Purchases go through Apple. Under-13s: no player number and no play stats, and any ads are child-safe and not personalised. You can switch stats off or delete everything in the game's Settings.
Who runs Hordefire
Hordefire is made by Tall Oak Labs, a trade name of Park Lane Real Estate LLC, which decides how this data is used (the "controller"). Contact: support@talloaklabs.com.
What is stored, and where
- On your iPhone only: your game progress, settings and answers. A backup copy is kept in the app's storage on the phone so a reinstall can bring it back. We can't see either.
- A random player number (13 and over): created when you first play, with no name, email or phone attached.
- Weekly race score: your points for each week under that number. Other players see it on the leaderboard as "Player" plus the first 4 characters of the number. Weeks older than 3 are dropped.
- Play stats (13 and over, see "Your choice"): the age band you picked, a region and country guessed from your phone's time-zone and language settings (not from your location or IP address), device type, how often and when you play, levels played and won, your level and favourite world, which offers you were shown, bought or turned down, ads watched, your price-test group, VIP level and event stars.
- Purchases: Apple handles payment; we never see your card or Apple Account details. The game receives which item you bought and when, so it can deliver it, restore it and count it in your VIP level. Purchase records are processed by RevenueCat, our purchase service, together with a random purchase ID it creates (not your name, email or Apple Account), so purchases can be checked, restored and refunded correctly.
- Ads: the game uses Google AdMob. Google receives device and connection details (such as device model, operating system, IP address and the ads shown and tapped) to choose and measure ads and to prevent fraud. If you are 18 or older and allow tracking when iOS asks, Google may also use your device's advertising identifier to personalise ads. See how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
- Reminders: if you turn them on, the game schedules them on your phone, at most one a day. Nothing about them is sent to us or anyone else, and they never contain ads or offers.
- Server logs: our database host (Supabase) processes your IP address and request details to deliver the race and keep it secure. We don't use these to work out who you are.
What we don't do
- No names, emails, phone numbers, photos, contacts or precise location.
- We don't sell your data. Our own play stats are never used for advertising or shared with ad companies.
- Prices are the same for every player who sees an offer.
Why we use it
- Race score and player number: to run the weekly race (the service you take part in, and our legitimate interest in a fair leaderboard).
- Play stats: to see which levels, features, offers and prices work for which groups of players, and to tune the game. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland this is based on your consent; elsewhere on our legitimate interest in improving the game, and you can object at any time with one tap.
- Personalised offers: the game works out on your phone which in-game offer to show and when, from how you play. Pooled stats from many players help it guess better. This has no legal or similarly significant effect on you.
- Ads: to keep the game free. Personalised ads only with your permission through Apple's tracking prompt (18 and over).
Your choice
- EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland (judged from your phone's time-zone and language settings): play stats are only saved after you tap Allow, and Google's consent form asks about ads. No thanks is just as easy, and the game plays the same either way.
- Everywhere else: play stats are on unless you switch off Share anonymous play stats in Settings. Switching them off stops them and deletes your stats from our server.
- Tracking: you can change your answer any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Children and teens
- Under 13: no player number is created and no play stats are sent. Ads are requested as child-directed and are never personalised. No pop-up offers.
- 13–17: ads are not personalised. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, no play stats are saved for under-18s.
- Please pick the age band that really fits you. If you think a child under 13 has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
- Race scores and play stats are deleted automatically when a player number hasn't been used for 13 months.
- Delete my data in the game's Settings removes your player number, race score and play stats from our server straight away. It does not cancel a subscription; do that in your Apple Account settings.
Your rights
You can access, correct, delete or object to the use of your data, withdraw consent, and complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO; in the EU, the authority in your country). Because we never learn who you are, the fastest way is the game's Settings, on the phone you play on. You can also email us; to find your data we'll need your player number, which Settings shows.
Where the data is processed
Our database runs on Supabase in the United States (AWS, us-east-1). RevenueCat (United States) processes purchase records for us under a data processing agreement. Google processes ad data under its own terms. Transfers from the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland are covered by these providers' data processing agreements, which include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect, the game will ask again where your OK is needed.
